Jessica and Gary’s wedding likely will go down as one of more memorable I’ll document. The couple was married in an outdoor ceremony at Locust Grove, a historic site in Louisville, Kentucky. But it was the reception that stood out. It began ordinarily enough, that is until the storm arrived with the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse in tow. The power to the tent was knocked out repeatedly. Driving rain soaked gear and guests. A tree limb fell a few dozen feet from where everyone stood. There were a few mumbles about perhaps moving everything indoors. But, alas, the wedding couple decided to hold firm and stay the course. And I’m glad they did. The rain felt great (even if it killed one of my flashes), and everyone seemed energized by defying the storm gods.
