Ellen and Ben’s wedding on New Year’s Eve served as a great way to cap 2010. Their evening ceremony was held at the beautiful Central Christian Church in downtown Lexington. The wedding party headed to the reception in the club room at The Red Mile, which offered a lot of space for everyone to really let their hair down. And that they did. Ellen and Ben had sort of warned me that a Greek wedding had some interesting reception traditions. My favorite was when everyone formed a circle and danced around several shot glasses of ouzo. The drinks naturally are consumed, but from a prone position on the floor and without the aid of one’s hands. Which is to say that it was a lot of fun to witness and document. Anyway, congratulations Ellen and Ben and thanks for the great time ringing in the new year.
