Many thanks to everyone who entrusted me with your wedding photography this past year. I really do love documenting weddings, and I feel privileged to have a front-row seat to one of the most important days in my clients’ lives. I hope my photographs capture even a small part of what you all felt and experienced that day. Below are a few of some of my favorite images from this past year of Kentucky weddings. CJ and Johnathan were married at the Walnut Street Baptist Church in downtown Louisville, Kentucky. After the ceremony, they were swept by trolley-car to this great old bank converted to venue hall called The Gillespie. Everybody had a great time, what with so much to do: there was a great old-school photo booth in the back, and a pair of swing dancers teaching newcomers the steps up front on the dance floor. It was great fun to watch everyone celebrate CJ and Johnathan’s wedding together. Congratulations, guys.

Veronica & Mike were married in Louisville, Ky., at the really cool Mellwood Art and Entertainment Center, an old meat packing plant remodeled into a campus for artists, art shops and various events. It proved to be an interesting place for a wedding, and it gave us lots of spots to take some non-traditional portraits. After the ceremony, everybody got down on the dance floor for a while. And then the crowd headed outside, where Veronica and Mike lit a Thai lantern, watching it lift away into the night sky. Thanks for letting me document your wonderful wedding, guys. And I hope you enjoy your adventure together.

Katy and Kelly were married at the Sheltowee Trail Country Club in Morehead, Kentucky. Despite threats of rain, the weather played nice, allowing the couple to exchange their wedding vows beneath the cover of two long-standing trees. Afterward, the crowd headed back to the clubhouse for a night of drinks and dancing. Everybody let loose, and it made for a fun occasion to document. And when Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’” came over the loudspeakers later that night, those on the dance floor didn’t miss a beat, going immediately into their best Steve Perry impersonations. With any luck, this will become wedding tradition. Until then, thanks, Katy and Kelly, for letting me take part, and I hope you enjoy your adventure together.

Robin and Bobby were married at one of the most stunning locations I’ve witnessed in Kentucky: the Country Plantation House in Greenville, Ky. I knew the venue would be something special, as Robin and Bobby, both wedding photographers themselves, were really smitten with it. And now I completely see why. It’s a beautiful home, nestled among these hills of farm country. Although temperatures soared to 100 degrees, it was a pleasure to document the couple’s wedding day. They share a great chemistry, and it’s easy to see why they’ve been together as long as they have. That always makes for a fun subject. So thanks, guys, and enjoy your adventure together.
