Ashley & Joe—Engagement: Richmond, Kentucky

Ashley and Joe had an interesting idea for their engagement session: They wanted to revisit the fraternity house where they first met. Luckily, Joe had an in, as he knew the guys who live there. And the house still held all its dingy charm. From there, they opted to head to Lexington to shoot at a few of the local scenic spots. It was great to spend the afternoon with them. They’re one of those couples who you’d think have been happily together for a lot longer than they have. And they were down for anything, including hanging out in an old boat house that apparently harbors the world’s largest collection of spiders.

  1. Hey Jaron. I jammed a small 24” softbox by their feet to add a rimlight. It was tough to hide it, and it was perilously close to taking a swim, but it’s worth it for the pleasing soft light it can give at short range.
